Hi, I’m Sameer Shamsudeen - a web developer currently making the transition into the world of cybersecurity.
I’ve been working with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress, React, and Node.js, which has given me a strong understanding of how websites and web applications are built. Now, I’m taking that experience a step further by learning how those systems can be secured, tested, and defended.
I’m currently studying cybersecurity fundamentals, Linux, networking, web security, ethical hacking, and security tools. I’m building my knowledge through hands-on practice, labs, and platforms such as OverTheWire and other cybersecurity learning resources.
My goal is to transition from web development into a cybersecurity career, with a particular interest in understanding how real-world attacks happen and, more importantly, how systems can be protected against them.
This blog is where I document my learning journey - including things I discover, practical experiments, useful commands, cybersecurity concepts, challenges I solve, and lessons I learn along the way.
I believe cybersecurity is a field where there is always something new to learn, so I’m approaching this journey with curiosity, consistency, and a willingness to keep improving.
From building websites to learning how to secure them - this is my journey into cybersecurity.
